Fix a Problem
Can the charger or cable affect how fast a Pixel phone charges?
Yes. Pixel charging speed depends on the phone model, charger protocol, cable, temperature, and battery state. A compatible USB-C Power Delivery or PPS charger and cable can help, but a higher-wattage adapter does not make every Pixel charge at the same maximum speed.
What to do
- Check the charging specifications for your exact Pixel model.
- Prefer a compatible USB-C Power Delivery or PPS adapter and a sound USB-C cable.
- Plug into a wall outlet and compare with another known-good compatible adapter or cable.
- Keep the phone in a moderate-temperature environment; heavy use or heat can slow charging.
- If charging remains unusually slow, inspect the charging port and follow Google’s official troubleshooting steps.
Limits and compatibility notes
Check this before relying on the answer
USB-A to USB-C can charge more slowly than USB-C to USB-C. Battery-protection features may also reduce speed. Never promise a fixed wattage or exact full-charge time without a supported phone model and conditions.
