How does Apple Maps remember where I parked my car?
When your iPhone disconnects from a car’s Bluetooth or CarPlay system, Apple Maps can automatically mark the parked location, provided the related settings are enabled.
What to do
- Pair your iPhone with your car’s Bluetooth or CarPlay.
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and turn Location Services on.
- Under Location Services > System Services, enable Significant Locations (the label may include “& Routes”).
- Open Settings > Apps > Maps and enable Show Parked Location.
- After leaving the car, open Maps and search for Parked Car.
Limits and compatibility notes
Check this before relying on the answer
The marker may not appear at familiar locations, such as your home or workplace. This feature is based on disconnecting from a supported Bluetooth or CarPlay connection, not continuous tracking of your vehicle.
