Android → iPhone Get Used to It

Does Control Center completely turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on iPhone?

Not usually. Tapping Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in iPhone Control Center disconnects from current networks or accessories, but the radios remain available for certain Apple features. To turn either feature off more fully, use its switch in the Settings app.

What to do

  1. To disconnect quickly, open Control Center and tap the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth control.
  2. To turn off Wi-Fi, open Settings > Wi-Fi and switch Wi-Fi off.
  3. To turn off Bluetooth, open Settings > Bluetooth and switch Bluetooth off.
  4. If devices reconnect after using Control Center, remember that Control Center primarily disconnects them rather than disabling all related services.

Limits and compatibility notes

Check this before relying on the answer Some functions such as AirDrop, Apple Watch, and Continuity can still use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth when disconnected through Control Center. Airplane Mode has its own behavior. The wording and gestures in Control Center may change by iOS version.
