iPhone → Android What Will I Lose?

How can parents replace Apple Screen Time when a child moves to Android?

Google Family Link can supervise a compatible child’s Android device, including certain app limits, screen-time schedules, and Google Play controls. It does not copy Apple Screen Time settings automatically, and some Apple parental-control features do not have exact one-to-one equivalents.

What to do

  1. Create or confirm the child’s Google Account and supervision eligibility.
  2. Install Family Link on the parent’s compatible phone and follow Google’s child-device setup instructions.
  3. On the child’s supported Android phone, link the supervised account.
  4. Set daily limits, downtime or schedules, app permissions, and Google Play restrictions as needed.
  5. Review emergency access and test age-appropriate communication before handing over the phone.

Limits and compatibility notes

Check this before relying on the answer Parents can manage Family Link from a supported iPhone, but Family Link cannot supervise a child’s iPhone like it can a supported Android device. Google Play purchase approvals do not cover purchases billed outside Google Play; limits and eligibility vary by region and age.
